Well… this week started off awesome…we got to go to the Elton John concert with a few of Glen’s “co-workers” where we sat in the second row… and wait for it…. we got to go backstage and meet him!!!! Yes- we meet undeniable on of the biggest musicians of all times and he could not have been nicer and more personable!! He apparently is a huge baseball fan!
This was so refreshing because Glen and I have had the chance to meet a few other quasi-celebrities who were rather rude and “too cool” for us…. and here he his… Rocket man himself… talking baseball and whipping out his ipad to show us pictures of his little boy…. seriously a moment I will never forget!!
Unfortunately from there my week went downhill…. I first went to the ENT to discover that I have yet another sinus infection… and to be honest as some one who has had countless ones I can say this is the worst one I have had… even 3 days into meds now I feel worst- it is super disheartening after having sinus surgery to still be having problems… but this new ENT is looking into a possible immune deficiency and allergies so hopefully we can get some answers and treat the underlying problem once and for all. I also chatted with a friend of mine and she mentioned an article by the Mayo clinic in which their research showed that sinus infections may not be bacterial or viral… but rather fungal. So after looking into it I headed to a local natural foods shop and got a few herbs that are supposed to help support immune function and clear out fungus and mold that may be lingering in the body. We will see how it goes… I am open to anything at this point to feel better!!
Oh and then there was the podiatrist…. I went there on Wednesday to have my big toe looked at and found out that I either strained or torn a tendon in my toe….. I am on anti-inflamatories and if I don’t get better by next week I have to go back in for an MRI and see if I tore it… please pray that I didn’t… I cannot handle another surgery!! The bad news is no running for at least 3 weeks…. which was terrible to hear. I am going to try cycling, yoga, and maybe swimming in the mean time but I know I am going to be dying to run. Not the news I was hoping to hear….
So needless to say…. after getting my first real running injury I guess that makes me a legit runner now… even though I can’t do it for a while…ugh!
Also- the Minnesota Twins Wives are now on twitter and tweeting about their events and charity work… you can follow them here….
Distance… none…
Song: “Benny and the Jets”- Elton John…. great tune!
Quote: “The great thing about rock and roll is that someone like me can be a star” – Elton John

Elton John…so cool! His voice is pretty ageless..and I’m glad to hear that he is a genuinely sincere person!
Not to turn you sinus woes back onto me, but it may help you. I lived with chronic sinus infections & antibiotics for years. When I jokingly but kind of desperately told my dr. that maybe it was time to take me behind the barn and put me down, he suggested the alternative of allergy testing and subsequently allergy shots. That was 2 years ago and it has changed my life. I can smell again, taste food, and most importantly, have only needed antibiotics ONE TIME since starting the shots. Two shots every 3 weeks. SO worth it. He is in Edina if you want to try the evaluation & see if it may be the answer for you.
Sorry it’s a tough time for you. Hopefully you and your girls are having fun times together in FL!! I promise never to write this long of a message again.
Susan I have had allergy testing and nothing came back super significant… I as allergic to a few things but not substantially- was yours substantial?
Whats the name and number of the Dr?
Thanks!
I tested pretty much off the charts on everything that grows from the ground, blooms, produces leaves, pollenates…you get the picture. I don’t know how recently you were tested, but I’ve learned that allergies can develop at any age. So maybe this isn’t your answer, but if you want to explore it, here is a link to Dr. Nelson’s bio page. He is in family practice with a subspecialty in allergies/asthma, so our family sees him for everything now, which is great. He’s an awesome guy and a really, really good doc!
